62. "Fyrkat" Viking Fortress
The Viking castles which were built in Scandinavia after the 10th century belonged to a series of strategic structures. These particular fortresses were usually constructed from 16 large wooden houses, four to a side, surrounded by a circular wall. The smallest of the most famous fortresses is located in Fyrkat, Denmark, and has a diameter of 120m.
