45. Silent Night Chapel

In 1937, the Silent Night Chapel was opened in remembrance of Joseph Mohr and Franz Xaver Gruber, who composed "Silent Night, Holy Night" for the Christmas service in 1818. The chapel is located in Altoberndorf, near Salzburg in Austria. The eight-sided brick building stands on a small hill. The stained glass windows dedicated to Mohr and Gruber, as well as the lantern shaped roof are noteworthy.
